AI Implementation · Regulated Professionals · New Zealand
We configure AI tools on your own machine so routine correspondence, admin, and standard documents start from a structured first draft instead of a blank page — without touching privileged or clinical material.
More time on your actual work
Routine correspondence, standard letters, and follow-ups start as structured drafts built from your own files and previous work.
Clear boundaries from day one
Privileged material, clinical data, and professional judgement stay entirely with you. That boundary is explicit, written, and built into every workflow.
Already experimenting with AI?
If you're already using AI tools informally, the risk isn't what you know — it's what you haven't thought through yet. We audit, reset, and rebuild properly.
Who This Is For
Distilwork serves two regulated professions where admin volume is high, professional obligations are strict, and the cost of getting AI wrong is real.
Track One
We configure AI tools on your own machine so routine correspondence, templates, and admin start from a structured first draft — built on your own precedents, without touching privileged material.
Not included: legal advice, court documents for filing, advocacy drafting, or anything automating legal judgement. Professional responsibility stays with you, entirely.

We configure AI tools on your own machine — or your practice manager's — so referral letters, reports, and practice admin start from a structured first draft. No patient records. No clinical system integration. Ever.
Not included: clinical decision support, patient record access, PMS integration, or anything involving patient-identifiable information. Non-negotiable.

This is a fixed-scope setup service, not a consulting engagement. We configure tools that already exist, built on your own files. You stay fully in control of everything the system produces.
Professional responsibility stays with you. We do not automate judgement, produce legal advice, generate clinical outputs, or create anything that bypasses your professional obligations.
"We do not configure AI tools to draft final legal advice, touch privileged client material without boundaries, integrate with clinical systems, or use patient data. If a workflow creates risk we cannot mitigate, we decline to build it."
The Process
Every package has a defined scope, a delivery window, and a bedding-in period — then it is finished. No retainer required.
A practical check of your current machine, storage setup, existing tools, and the types of work you do most. We leave with a clear go/no-go view. If it is a good fit, you receive a fixed written quote before anything further is committed.
No obligation · No feeFor practices with existing AI use, unclear boundaries, or complex setups, a paid Readiness Review comes first. It maps what is safe, what is not, and produces a written one-page setup plan before any implementation begins. Credited in full toward any package.
Credited toward any packageWe configure the AI tools on your own hardware, build your approved workflows, and create your prompt pack from your own precedents and templates. You do not move to new software. We come to where you are.
Remote or in-person, AucklandA structured training session on your actual setup — not a generic AI course. You receive a plain-English quick-reference guide and written operating rules specific to your system. Then a short bedding-in window for any minor refinements.

All prices NZD, excluding GST. You hold your own software licences — purchased directly from the provider. No markup, no lock-in.
Software licences are purchased directly by you from the relevant provider — not through us. Ongoing AI tool cost is typically NZD $30–50/month. Readiness Review fee is credited in full if you proceed to any implementation package within 90 days.
The free 60-minute suitability call is exactly that — a practical check, not a sales pitch. If your setup is not a good fit, we will say so plainly and you leave with a clear view of your options.
The Numbers
Enter your numbers. The calculator runs live in your browser. No data is captured or transmitted.
Based on 48 working weeks per year. Covers correspondence, scheduling, routine drafting, file notes, time recording, and standard documents — not substantive professional work.
This calculator is illustrative only. Actual time savings depend on your workflow, how consistently the system is used, and the types of work involved. We do not guarantee any specific result.
Honest Expectations
The professionals we work with are experienced, precise, and have no patience for overselling. Neither do we. These are the things we say upfront, every time.
Whether you are a barrister or a specialist, using AI tools does not transfer professional responsibility. Every draft produced must be reviewed by you before it is used. We build your setup to make that review easy — not to bypass it.
Initial setups are limited to approved, lower-risk administrative workflows. Anything involving privileged communications, patient records, or sensitive personal information requires a separate written review — and may simply be unsuitable. We will not pressure you to expand the boundary.
Conversations with AI tools process through external servers. We are transparent about how data flows in your specific setup, flag where caution is warranted, and recommend alternatives where a workflow creates exposure you are not comfortable with.
AI tool pricing and features shift quickly. We maintain competence across multiple platforms so your setup is not stranded if one changes. We do not lock you into any single vendor.
Each package has a defined scope and a bedding-in window for minor fixes. After that, the engagement is complete. There is no open-ended helpdesk or monthly retainer unless you specifically want one.
Common Questions
No. Each package is fixed-scope. There is a short bedding-in window for minor fixes, but this is not a managed IT or ongoing helpdesk engagement. Periodic optimisation can be discussed as a separate arrangement if you want it.
Because using AI occasionally is not the same as a repeatable, safe, practice-specific setup. Ad hoc prompting produces inconsistent results and creates boundary risks. We build something you can rely on, with rules that protect you.
Not by default. Initial setups are limited to approved lower-risk workflows. Anything involving privileged communications or patient-identifiable information needs a separate written review — and in practice, that answer is almost always no.
No. You provide the machine. If your current hardware is not suitable, we will give you a written specification. The purchase, warranty, and ongoing support remain with you and your existing IT supplier.
Typically NZD $30–50 per month, purchased directly by you from the provider. We do not mark up software or take commissions. You hold your own licence and can cancel it independently of our engagement.
Yes, and it is often the right approach. The suitability call establishes who the setup is for and we build accordingly. Training sessions can be conducted with the specialist or barrister directly, the practice manager, or both.
The 60-minute suitability call is a practical check, not a sales pitch. If your practice is not a good fit, we will say so. Auckland-based, available nationally.
